Amplifying Impact: How LivingStone International University Is Building Futures Through Faith and Education
Some opportunities come along that have the power to shape the future for generations.
At LivingStone International University (LIU), that opportunity is happening right now.
What began as a vision over a decade ago is steadily becoming reality as the LivingStone Center rises on campus. With the roof now being installed on the first wing, students, faculty, and supporters are seeing firsthand how God continues to provide for the mission of Christ-centered education in Uganda.
But this story is about more than construction. It is about students discovering purpose, communities being transformed, and future leaders being equipped to serve across Africa. Every classroom built, every student sponsored, and every prayer offered contributes to something much bigger than a university.
It contributes to lives being changed for eternity.
The LivingStone Center: A Dream Becoming Reality
For years, the LivingStone Center existed only in plans, drawings, and prayers. Today, it stands as a visible reminder of God’s faithfulness and the commitment of people who believe in the mission of LIU.
The first wing of the center is already taking shape, and its impact will be immediate. Beyond creating additional space for students, the facility will strengthen LIU’s credibility with Uganda’s National Council for Higher Education and support future growth across the university.
To help continue this momentum, LIU has been blessed with a remarkable opportunity: a $450,000 matching grant.
Already, more than $70,000 has been raised toward this challenge. Every gift helps move the project forward and ensures that years of planning and prayer continue producing lasting results.
The LivingStone Center is more than a building. It represents expanded opportunities for students who are seeking an education grounded in faith, leadership, and service.

What Will the Next Fletcher Scholar Become?
One of the most inspiring questions at LIU is also one of the simplest:
What will the next Fletcher Scholar become?
The answer is impossible to predict, but past students provide incredible examples of what can happen when opportunity meets purpose.
One sponsored student, Joseph, was abandoned as a child and raised in extreme poverty. Through education and mentorship, he went on to develop technology that helps track disease outbreaks across Africa. Today, he operates a hospital in his hometown, serving his community.

Another student, Eric, arrived at LIU as a genocide orphan from Rwanda. During his time at the university, he encountered Christ and discovered a passion for ministry. He has since helped plant churches in Senegal, Ghana, and Rwanda.
Then there is Rehema.
After enduring years of persecution from her Muslim father because of her Christian faith, she found support, education, and spiritual growth at LIU. Today, she teaches, mentors students, and continues sharing the hope she found through Christ.
Stories like these remind us that sponsorship is about far more than covering educational expenses.
It is about unlocking potential.
It is about helping students encounter Jesus.
And it is about preparing future leaders who will influence families, communities, and nations.
LIU is currently seeking 75 sponsors to support students entering the upcoming semester. So far, 33 sponsors have stepped forward.
Every sponsorship creates an opportunity for transformation.

A New Generation Is Discovering LIU
The future of LivingStone International University looks bright.
Recently, LIU hosted a two-week bootcamp that welcomed 95 secondary school students from across Eastern Uganda. The event introduced students to the university’s mission, values, academic programs, and commitment to discipleship.
The response was encouraging.
Participants actively engaged in chapel services, discussions, and leadership activities. Some even led chapel sessions themselves, demonstrating a passion for faith and service that reflects the heart of LIU.
One participant, a Muslim student from Somalia, expressed deep appreciation for the experience and the welcoming environment he encountered on campus.
The impact was immediate. Approximately 30 students submitted applications following the event, while dozens of others have already been admitted through recruitment efforts.
For university leaders, these students represent more than enrollment numbers.
They represent future teachers, pastors, entrepreneurs, and leaders who will help shape communities across Africa.
Why Prayer Remains Essential
While financial support helps expand opportunities, LIU leadership believes prayer remains the most important investment anyone can make.
Every day, students, faculty, and staff face challenges that require wisdom, protection, and God’s provision. The university continues asking believers around the world to join a growing prayer movement focused on the future of LIU.
Prayer is needed for:
- The completion of the LivingStone Center
- The Disciple Making Movement on campus
- Employment opportunities for graduates
- Wisdom for faculty and staff
- Financial provision for students
- Spiritual growth throughout the university
The vision is bold: 2,000 believers praying daily for LivingStone International University.
When people pray, their lives change. Doors open. Opportunities emerge. And God receives the glory.

How You Can Amplify the Mission
Every student who arrives at LivingStone International University has enormous potential.
Some will become educators. Others will become pastors, business leaders, healthcare professionals, or community advocates. Many will return to places where hope is scarce, and opportunities are limited.
Your involvement can help make that future possible.
Here are three simple ways to partner with LIU:
- Amplify LIU by helping complete the LivingStone Center.
- Sponsor a Fletcher Scholar and invest directly in a student’s future.
- Commit to Prayer and join a growing community of believers supporting the mission.
Each step helps create opportunities for transformation that will continue long after graduation.
